The Role

Performs a variety of moderate accounting procedures relating to credit union accounts and clearing activities including processing entries to general ledger and items posted to member accounts. Responsible for investigating and resolving any issues or discrepancies associated with these types of transactions.

· Ensures the safekeeping of records meets the requirements of outside regulatory bodies and ensures that a systematic process is in place for the retention and disposal
· Extracts and compiles financial data on request
· Performs general accounting assignments as required
· Performs various other accounting activities. (reviews reporting, month-end entries)
· Performs member service duties and other clerical functions as required
· Prepares daily and month-end reconciliations. Investigate, follow up and resolve any discrepancies/differences.

This position is for an existing vacancy within our team.

What we are looking for

· Post-secondary degree/diploma in accounting, finance, business administration or a related program
· 2-3 years of related experience preferred
· Charted Professional Accountant (CPA) candidate preferred
· Ability to be proactive, anticipate needs and identify opportunities to provide a higher level of service
· Always demonstrates professional etiquette, specifically when dealing with difficult and sensitive situations
· Previous experience in a financial institution preferred
· Knowledge of branch processes
· Must be bondable
