Hours: Monday – Friday 8:30-5:00
Job Type: Regular Full-Time

Are you a community-minded person that’s passionate about investing locally and giving back to your community? Do you like working with other awesome and like-minded people toward a common goal?

Here at Your Neighbourhood Credit Union (YNCU), we are all about putting our money where our mouth is and keeping our dollars local and investing back into our members, staff, and community; and we are looking for people like you to join our team.

The Role

The Business Systems Analyst III – Testing & Quality Assurance is responsible for establishing, executing, and continuously improving YNCU’s testing and quality assurance practices across core banking systems and integrated platforms. This role brings structure, rigor, and discipline to system testing to ensure technology changes are thoroughly validated, risks are mitigated, and releases meet business, operational, and regulatory expectations.

While testing and quality assurance are the primary focus of this role, the incumbent is also expected to perform broader Business Systems Analyst (BSA) responsibilities as required. This includes supporting business analysis, requirements definition, solution design, and delivery activities across technology initiatives when testing demand is lower.

The role works closely with business stakeholders, internal IT teams, Risk, and external vendors to lead end-to-end testing activities, including system testing, integration testing, regression testing, and user acceptance testing (UAT), while also contributing to the successful analysis and delivery of technology solutions.

DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES

Testing & Quality Assurance Leadership

  • Own and continuously improve YNCU’s testing framework, standards, templates, and methodologies across all technology initiatives.
  • Lead and coordinate end to end testing activities, including system testing, integration testing, regression testing, and UAT.
  • Develop and maintain test strategies, test plans, test cases, test scripts, and traceability matrices aligned to business requirements and risk.
  • Act as the primary point of accountability for release readiness from a testing and quality perspective.
  • Identify testing gaps, risks, dependencies, and quality concerns early, providing clear recommendations and escalation as required.

Systems & Business Analysis

  • Collaborate with business and technology stakeholders to understand requirements, impacts, and testing implications of system changes.
  • Validate that functional and non‑functional requirements are fully covered by testing scenarios.
  • Perform detailed analysis of system changes to ensure downstream impacts are identified and tested.

Core Banking & Vendor Coordination

  • Coordinate testing activities across core banking systems and integrated platforms, including vendor led and joint testing efforts.
  • Work closely with third party vendors to plan, execute, and validate testing outcomes.
  • Validate fixes, patches, and upgrades to ensure no unintended impacts to member experience, operations, or controls.

Risk, Controls & Continuous Improvement

  • Partner with Risk, Operations, and business teams to ensure testing aligns with financial services controls, audit expectations, and regulatory requirements.
  • Support post‑implementation reviews and contribute to continuous improvement of testing practices.
  • Provide clear documentation and reporting on testing status, outcomes, and risks.

General Business Systems Analysis

  • Lead or support business and systems analysis activities for technology initiatives as capacity allows.
  • Elicit, analyze, document, and validate business and system requirements using appropriate techniques and tools.
  • Facilitate workshops, working sessions, and stakeholder discussions to clarify scope, requirements, and solution options.
  • Support solution design by translating business needs into clear functional and non-functional requirements.
  • Collaborate with project managers, product owners, developers, and vendors throughout the delivery lifecycle.
  • Contribute to project documentation, including requirements documents, process flows, user stories, and impact assessments.
  • Support implementation planning, go-live activities, and post-implementation stabilization.

This position is for an existing vacancy within our team.

What we are looking for

  • Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Business Administration, or a related field.
  • Minimum five (5) years of experience in business systems analysis, quality assurance, or testing within the financial services industry.
  • Demonstrated experience leading structured testing initiatives in complex, integrated environments.
  • Direct experience with core banking systems, ideally Fiserv DNA and/or Wealthview.
  • Strong understanding of retail banking or credit union operations, controls, and risk considerations.
  • Experience coordinating testing with third party vendors and cross functional teams.
  • Familiarity with agile delivery methodologies such as Scrum or Kanban.
  • Availability to work outside of normal business hours as required to support releases and critical upgrades.
  • Must be bondable.
