The Role

 YNCU is seeking a motivated and client-focused Mutual Fund Representative to join our Wealth Management team.  In partnership with Aviso Wealth, one of Canada’s leading wealth management organizations serving credit unions, this role provides members with trusted investment advice and tailored financial solutions helping them achieve their short- and long-term financial goals.

The Mutual Fund Representative offers the opportunity to build strong member relationships while delivering professional investment guidance aligned with members’ risk tolerance and objectives and our credit unions values and community focus.

  • Build and maintain a book of business through referrals, proactive member engagement, and enterprise partnerships.
  • Provide Mutual Fund investment advice to existing Wealth clients and Credit Union members.
  • Work closely with Aviso Wealth Financial Planners to provide the highest level of quality service.
  • Develop and implement personalized investment strategies.
  • Collaborate with branch staff to identify referral opportunities.
  • Facilitate growth and generate revenue through achievement of objectives by increasing member acquisition and member engagement through successful product penetration and deepening member relationships.
  • Maintain accurate client records and documentation.

This position is for an existing vacancy within our team.

What we are looking for

  • Driven to develop and expand a strong investment portfolio, building upon the foundation of the existing portfolio provided.
  • Licensed Mutual Fund Representative (IFIC or CSC eligible).
  • Registered or eligible for registration in the province of Ontario.
  • 2+ years of experience in financial services or investment sales (Mutal Funds) preferred.
  • Working towards a Financial Planning designation, such as the Certified Financial Planner (CFP) or Professional Financial Advisor (PFA) designation.
  • Strong understanding of Mutual Funds, and basic financial planning principles.
  • Excellent communication and relationship-building skills.
  • Self-starter, strong organizational skills, a team player.
  • Keen interest and ability to stay current with market trends.
  • Sound judgement and decision making.
  • Valid Ontario driver’s license and available reliable vehicle.
  • Ability to travel to all YNCU locations.
  • Ability to work flexible hours, at times.
  • Must be bondable.

This is a salary plus commission-based position. Total compensation is expected to start at $70,000-$80,000 for the first-year employment.  Commission following the first year of employment will adjust to our commission model, which allows for recognition of portfolio management.

The compensation offered to the successful applicant for this role will be determined by the candidate’s relevant skills and experience and internal equity. More information about our total rewards package will be available during the hiring process.
