The Role
The Security
Analyst Level II will be responsible for leading and managing the day-to-day
security operations of the organization. This position is responsible for the
monitoring and analysis of security threats, incidents, and events, as well as
responding to security incidents and developing security recommendations.
The Security
Analyst Level II will also be responsible for developing and implementing
security policies, procedures, and best practices to ensure the security of the
organization’s networks, systems, and data.
- Review reported phishing emails to identify coordinated attacks against YNCU and block them via Exchange Online
- Participate in regular phishing simulations and follow up with failed employees
- Participate in X.509 certificate management, support the PKI
- Manage relationship with the third-party SOC, investigate alerts and warnings
- Monitor and analyze security systems, including intrusion detection and prevention systems, to detect and prevent security breaches in cooperation with the third-party SOC
- Respond to security incidents and perform forensic investigations as needed to identify the root cause and prevent future incidents
- Keep abreast of the latest security trends, threats, and vulnerabilities, and recommend and implement appropriate security measures to ensure the ongoing protection of the organization's information and systems
- Collaborate with IT and other departments to ensure the security of all systems and information, and to provide guidance and assistance as needed
- Maintain documentation of security policies, procedures, and systems, and update as needed to reflect changes in the organization's security posture

What we are looking for
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field
- Minimum of 2 years of experience in IT security, with a focus on threat analysis and mitigation
- Good knowledge of security protocols and technologies, including firewalls, endpoint protection software, and intrusion detection systems
- Experience responding to security incidents
- Good communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to explain technical concepts clearly and concisely to a non-technical audience
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team, with strong problem-solving and analytical skills
- Experience working with third party Security Operations Centre (SOC) is an asset
- Experience of Agile projects and project management is an asset
- CISSP, or other relevant security certifications is an asset
- Must be bondable
