The Role

The Senior Creative and Multimedia Designer at YNCU is responsible for oversight of the brand and visual identity of YNCU. The role responsibilities include digital-first creative elements, social media content, motion graphics, as well as omni-channel marketing materials and scalable designs that extend into the branch experience, translating complex financial concepts into engaging visual stories. This role requires advanced proficiency of the Adobe Creative Suite (Photoshop, Illustrator, After Effects, Premiere) and a strong portfolio demonstrating on-brand, and thoughtful, information and data informed, high-quality design.       

  • Reports to Manager, Performance Marketing to provide innovative and brand consistent design for multimedia and omni-channel delivery that supports organizational brand awareness, growth and retention objectives, internal culture, and overall brand strategy.
  • Is the brand evangelist and gatekeeper for YNCU’s visual identity and brand guidelines, balancing brand consistency with continuous brand improvement and evolution.
  • Create visual solutions that demonstrate deep audience understanding through simple but stunning design utilizing latest design principles and technologies.
  • Present creative logic, design framework, brainstorm and mock-up design ideas with cross-functional teams to deliver high quality products and design that align to business objectives.
  • Deliver constant improvements to YNCU’s visual identity and graphics based on latest best practices and trends.
  • Plan concepts by studying data, information and materials. Stay updated on latest industry trends on graphic design and development techniques by attending design workshops; reviewing professional publications; participating in professional societies.
  • Review graphic work and prepare creative for final production and maintain proper file organization for archives and audit.
  • Manage and maintain the team’s image library assets and brand guidelines tool kit
  • Manage outside agencies, art services, printers, etc.

This position is for an existing vacancy within our team.

What we are looking for:

  • Post-secondary diploma or degree in Graphic/Multimedia Design or a related program, or an equivalent combination of education and experience
  • Current knowledge of marketing practices and strategies, including use of social media
  • Understanding of CASL and AODA compliance requirements
  • Strong knowledge of financial services industry
  • Must have a valid Ontario driver's licence and reliable available vehicle
  • Must be bondable

Salary range: $65,000-70,000
The compensation offered to the successful applicant for this role will be determined by the candidate’s relevant skills and experience and internal equity. More information about our total rewards package will be available during the hiring process.
